CalcNex is operated as an Australian sole trader business. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1.1 Information you provide directly

• Account information: your name, email address, and password when you register
• Profile information: your firm name, job title, and contact details
• Billing information: payment details processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card numbers
• Project data: engineering calculation inputs, pile geometry, soil profiles, load cases, and results you save to the Platform
• Communications: emails or messages you send to us at info@calcnex.com.au

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Browser type, operating system, and device information
• IP address and approximate location
• Pages visited, features used, and time spent on the Platform
• Session data for authentication and security purposes

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Platform and its calculation modules
• Process your subscription payments via Stripe
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, receipts, subscription updates)
• Respond to your support enquiries
• Enforce our Terms of Service and protect against fraud or misuse
• Comply with legal obligations under Australian law
• Send product updates and release notes (you may opt out at any time)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in Sydney, Australia (AWS ap-southeast-2) via Supabase. This means your data remains subject to Australian law.

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• TLS/SSL encryption for all data in transit
• Encrypted storage for all data at rest
• Row-level security policies on our database
• Authentication tokens with automatic expiry
• Regular security reviews

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We share your information with trusted third-party providers only as necessary to operate the Platform:

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication (Sydney, Australia)
• Stripe — payment processing (Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data)
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Netlify — frontend hosting (United States)
• Railway — backend hosting (United States)

These providers are contractually bound to protect your information and may not use it for their own purposes.

5. Your Engineering Project Data

Your calculation data (pile layouts, soil profiles, load cases, results) is your intellectual property. We do not access, use, or share your project data except:

• To provide and improve the Platform's technical functionality
• For backup and disaster recovery purposes
• If required by law or court order

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information and project data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription:

• Your account and project data remain accessible in read-only mode for 90 days
• After 90 days, your data may be deleted unless you request otherwise
• Billing records are retained for 7 years as required by Australian tax law

7. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or out-of-date information
• Request deletion of your personal information
